If You Want To Make Millions You Have To Cultivate A Million-Dollar Mindset

I know what it’s like to be in a position where you really want to be making that seven figures but you have no idea where to start. It can be downright hard and frustrating, to say the least!

In this blog we’re covering:

  • Creating an abundance mindset

  • Setting big goals and chasing after them

  • Embracing change, innovation, creativity, and risk

Where is your mindset?

You have to give yourself grace in knowing that no matter what your goal is, mindset work is going to be necessary to get you there. Even if you don’t have the money goal of making a million dollars, that is totally fine. What you need to understand is that whatever your money goal is, you are still going to need to work on your mindset to wrap your head around that new goal. Think about it like this… It’s like someone who has a goal of getting fit and trying to teach them how to have the mindset of someone who is fit because someone who is fit is going to be more cautious about their food, their body movement, and all of these other things that factor into achieving that goal while someone who's not there yet is going to have a really hard time thinking in that place. It’s the same idea for someone who is making seven figures versus someone who is not at that income level yet but wants to get there. The mindset between those two places is wildly different.

If your goal is further than where you currently are, it means that you need to change some sort of your mindset alongside your action-taking in order to get there. And this could be for anything in life. It could be in terms of money, relationships, fitness, or whatever goals you have, mindset will be part of the recipe to get you there.

Mindset changes + Action Steps = Goals

Creating an abundance mindset

You might have heard this from me before but it is truly something that I believe in and live by, but I did not get to this point easily. Money is like a faucet. I am really strong in this money mindset now, but it took me a really long time and A LOT of work to get to this point and have this belief. Developing this money mindset did not happen overnight and it did not happen when I was making less than six figures. It also did not happen when I was working for someone else. Your mindset is going to change as you reach every new goal and become that new version of yourself embodying that next level. You have to understand that opportunities come to you and if you have this mindset that life is going to give you exactly what you need exactly when you need it, in the format that you need it, then something beautiful happens.

Sometimes it can be lonely. Have you ever heard the saying that the million-dollar mindset is a lonely place? This can hold true for many people because you will start to lose people in your life who are no longer in alignment with you and that is something you will have to learn to be okay with. If you have people around you who think that it’s not possible, they are not your people. You get to a point where you are in such a different place, and it’s not about the money, it’s that your mindset is different. Your mind has changed, and so it will be really hard to be around some people because of this, and that is okay, it’s all part of your evolution into this next-level version of yourself.

People say that money changes you, and yes, it does. It forces you to step outside of your comfort zone and think of it from a different perspective. If you can create an abundance mindset and believe that everything will work out exactly how it's supposed to and that you are deserving of every single dollar you ever make, it will change. There’s the be, do, have concept that is about being the person that you want to be to have what you want to have by doing what that person would do and it’s the same idea here too. You have to change your mindset to think like that person, to do like that person, and to have what that person has, so if you want to make a million dollars, you have to start by creating that million-dollar mindset.

Are you chasing after your goals?

The next piece of having a million-dollar mindset is setting big goals and chasing after them. Don’t set a goal that is too far-fetched, but set goals that are BIG enough for you to chase after. You have to think about what you really want in the long run. What is your bigger picture? And how bad do you want it? It’s up to you to decide what is going to make the most sense and feel the best for you.

There’s a difference between wanting to make a million dollars and planning to make a million dollars. You can’t have a goal to reach the seven-figure mark without a plan to get there. Your plan doesn’t need to be perfect by any means, but you at least need to thinking about everything in between where you are now and your end goal. You have to start thinking about things like, what does your conversion rate need to be? How many calls does that mean you need to take? What are the other things you are going to need to do to take steps towards the bigger goal and check all these smaller boxes off along the way? You have to think about the domino effect.

In the pursuit of chasing after your goals, you need to be tracking them. You track your goals by tracking your metrics. When you set these big goals that are actually attainable you need to know what KPIs are going to indicate your progress and at what cadence do you need to be tracking them. Are you looking at those KIPs weekly, monthly, or quarterly to track your progress toward your big goals? As long as you are setting BIG attainable goals and truly chasing after them, you can do anything and you can make any amount of money that you set your mind to.

Embracing change, innovation, creativity, and risk

We see how this is a must in today’s world when we think about what many of us went through during the pandemic years. We saw and experienced how quickly things can change and you have to be able to adapt and know deep down that no matter what you will figure it out. Understanding your unique risk tolerance is important so that you know what you are okay with and where does the edge of your comfort zone lie? No matter what, things are going to get risky when you are in business, but it gets riskier as you become a million-dollar business because you have a lot more to lose. You need to understand your risk tolerance and embrace the fact that risk will be something you will inevitably face in business. As your business grows, the risk typically grows too. Innovation and creativity are essential so that you can learn to pivot and adjust and find different solutions. It’s about looking at your information and seeing where you can do things differently to get a more desirable result. This is going to show up in so many different ways and so many areas of your business that you really have to embrace change and be willing to adjust so that you keep chasing after those goals and ultimately achieve them.

At the end of the day it comes back to the be, do, have mindset and really putting that into practice in your business. You have to really become that million-dollar person and take aligned actions if you want the million-dollar business to follow. Doing the hard work to cultivate a million-dollar mindset should be a non-negotiable if you really want to hit that seven-figure mark. In doing the work, you will have to learn to pivot, adjust, and embrace the necessary changes to reach your biggest goals.
